Descrizione:

Built in New York for the US Revenue Service in 1857 it was later captured by the Confederacy in 1883, used to assist the Southern Merchant Service. Harriet Lane was powered by a combination of steam and sail. She was 180 feet long, with a beam of 30 feet, and carried a 30-pound Parrott rifle, plus three 9-inch Dahlgren smoothbore guns. Her crew of 95 all carried small arms. Its design clearly illustrates the transition from sailing to steam, as it steam engines were not entirely reliable and the power was not yet sufficient to allow the elimination of the sail. The kit  in wood and metal Harriet Lane by Model Expo is equipped with laser cut planking for bulkhead construction, lime wood for decking and cabins, spars and walnut blocks. Ladders, anchors, cannons and other accessories are made of finely cast Britannia metal, rich in detail and lead-free.
