The ship "St. Gabriel" was built on the east coast of the Kamchatka Peninsula as an exploration vessel for the first expedition to Kamchatka of the Russian explorer Vitus Bering in 1728. After the expedition it sailed in the Pacific Ocean for 27 years, until 1755.

Many historical events are linked to this ship including the first crossing of the Arctic Circle in the Chukchi Sea by Europeans in 1728, the discovery of Alaska in 1732 and the first visit to Japan by the Russians in 1739.< /p>

All wooden parts are laser cut to simplify assembly.
The hull design compensates for material deformations.
Double plank hull on bulkhead. The end planks of the hull are made of redwood veneer.
Museum quality cast artillery.
Laser etched deck of anigre veneer.

Multitude of highly detailed photo-etched brass parts.
Sail plans and fabric for sewing the sails.
