by Model Expo

On September 16, 1620, The Mayflower departed from Plymouth, England, direction  Virginia to establish a permanent colony in North America, brought 102 men, women and children. Many of the passengers were separatists fleeing religious persecution in Europe. After two months at sea, the ship jettisoned the anchor in what is now Provincetown, MA. It was almost 200 miles further away. north than expected, but winter was approaching, so the Pilgrims decided to stay. Half of the colony is not survived that first winter, but the rest is survived and thrived.

Historians have tried to identify the Mayflower, but all this is which is it's certain which was a 180-ton wine vessel of the type commonly used in the early 17th century. In 1957 a British group sponsored a replica's journey from Plymouth, England to Plymouth, MA. The ship is was donated to the United States.

All wooden components have been laser cut, precision cast Britannia metal parts and brass details and five diameters of cord. Detailed plans and illustrated assembly instructions make construction easy. (The display base and stands are not included.)
